Try our special glycerine soap.

It contains more glycerine than regular soap. Our glycerine soaps are soft and transparent.

Glycerin is known to draw moisture from the environment. It is also called a humectant.
Glycerin (glycerol) is simply found in nature. In the past, glycerine was extracted from animal fat and tallow and it was a by-product for making soap. Today, glycerine is also extracted from vegetable fats.
Glycerine is part of almost all oils and fats and is even a substance that occurs in the human body.Pure glycerin can dry out the skin. Since glycerin extracts moisture from the air, it will normally become saturated and act as a source of moisture for the skin.

Functions of Glycerin:
Restore the skin. Glycerin fills the small cracks in the skin. The cracks remain moist and therefore have a chance to recover.
In addition, glycerine is not irritating to dry and sensitive skin.Multi-Pack - an indispensable product.
Versatile: For body cleansing and hand hygiene.
Obtained by direct saponification of neutral oils with the Marseille method.Available as such.

The qualities of baking soda

Baking soda comes in three main qualities: technical, food, and pharmaceutical. Even if we find them under the same name of sodium bicarbonate (or baking soda), they have different purity criteria. Technical baking soda should only be used for household use. The food soda is identified with the FCC code. It is the most versatile since it can be used for home maintenance as well as body care, for animals and also in the garden.

Bicarbonate is available in different particle sizes (size of the grains that compose it) a very fine particle size (extra fine bicarbonate) is suitable for body care and for making your own cosmetics and deodorant for example, while a large particle size (large baking soda) will be more practical for rubbing powder on a sponge or brush. There is also an intermediate particle size (fine particle size) which is the most versatile.

The sodium bicarbonate (also known as baking soda) is used for cooking, cleaning, gardening, etc. It is so effective it can be used almost for everything! It is also an ecological product and above all a product at a very low price. You know it by name, but do you really know how to use it?

What is baking soda?

The sodium bicarbonate has the formula NaHCO 3. It is presented as a white powder. We can find it under different names like sodium bicarbonate, sodium hydrogen carbonate, or sodium hydrogen carbonate in industrial pastries. It is also sometimes called Vichy salt because it is the main mineral in Vichy water.

The benefits of baking soda

• It does not cause allergy

• It is edible (only the food baking soda is)

• It is non-toxic

• It is biodegradable

• It does not contain a preservative

• It is economical

A little history

In ancient times, the Egyptians used natron. Natron is a mineral composed of sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate. They obtained the natron from the evaporation of salt lakes and used it to rub the body like soap and to make ointments. Natron was also used to preserve mummies.

1791: Nicolas Leblanc, French chemist, develops for the first time sodium bicarbonate as it exists today.

1846: Dr. Austin Church and his son-in-law John Dwight create, near New York, the company Church and Dwight which exploits the first method of industrial refining of sodium carbonate to obtain sodium bicarbonate from Trona.

1863: Ernest Solvay launches its first carbonate and then sodium bicarbonate manufacturing plant in Belgium, using a new process combining two natural mineral raw materials: geological salt (called rock salt) and calcium carbonate (called chalk or limestone). This process is still the most widely used in the world today, and the only one used in Europe.

How to use baking soda?

You understand bicarbonate is a versatile product and that's what makes it part of its interest. It is still necessary to have an idea of the multiple ways to use it. Baking soda can be used in 5 different ways: powder, paste, solution, spray, and mixed.

Baking soda powder

This is how it looks at first. In this case, it should be "sprinkled", that is to say, pour small quantities, distributing it as evenly as possible. Baking powder is used whenever there has to be a "contact" action:

• To absorb odors (contact between the bicarbonate grains and the ambient air).

• To clean surfaces (it is often necessary to wet the support - sponge or cloth - to allow the baking powder to adhere).

• To fight against allergens on mattresses, rugs, carpets.

• In the case of mixing with other powders: for the preparation of pastries, in mixture with flour for example…

Baking soda paste

A paste is obtained by mixing approximately 3 volumes of bicarbonate and 1 volume of water. This keeps most of the grains present, but they remain linked together by "saturated" water in which a small part of the bicarbonate will have dissolved. It is the ideal form for "applying baking soda":

• On surfaces to be cleaned.

• On the skin (food-grade bicarbonate).

• In fact, in each situation where it will be necessary to adhere the bicarbonate to a surface.

Here is an example of the use of baking soda in several forms: cleaning its silverware without rubbing by diluting to start then in the form of powder or paste by rubbing if necessary later for the finishes.

Baking soda solution

Dissolving baking soda in water is very easy. The warmer the water, and the more “pure” the water, the higher the maximum amount of diluted bicarbonate. In theory, in completely pure water at 20 ° C, you can dilute up to 87 grams of bicarbonate per liter (this is the theoretical solubility limit of bicarbonate). In practice, since our tap water is generally very calcareous, it can no longer be considered as "pure" water properly speaking, and it is generally distributed at a temperature between 10 and 15 ° C, and we can only dissolve forty or fifty grams of bicarbonate per liter (about 3 tablespoons). It is very largely sufficient for almost all uses of bicarbonate in solution:

• In the kitchen (when diluted in milk, when used to clean or cook vegetables, etc.)

• For all cleaning and soaking applications (laundry for example).

• But also for body care when you have to bathe in the bathtub or in a basin.

Baking soda spray

It is enough to dissolve the bicarbonate in the tank of a small sprayer (be careful to make sure that it did not contain any dangerous substance previously). Spraying can be very practical!

Mixed baking soda

The bicarbonate can be combined with vinegar for example (it will then react by "foaming"), with oil, with clays, with liquid soap. The fields of applications then become almost infinite.

What if we told you that it only takes two ingredients to clean most of your home? Yes, it's baking soda and kitchen vinegar! How does cleaning with baking soda and kitchen vinegar work?
To understand why it is helpful to know how the baking soda and vinegar reaction works. Baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate) or baking soda is a base and bases want a proton. Vinegar is an acid and acids have a proton that they want to get rid of. The bubbly chemical reaction you see when you mix baking soda and vinegar is the exchange of these protons, which creates carbon dioxide in the form of bubbly foam and leaves water behind. So what remains is essentially just water! While the combination is powerful, it's not something you can make ahead of time and keep in a spray bottle. Is it dangerous to mix vinegar and baking soda?
Not at all. Mixing bleach and ammonia can release the toxic and sometimes deadly chloramine gas, baking soda and vinegar are completely different. The reaction you get from mixing these two compounds together causes the release of carbon dioxide gas, the same gas that we breathe out of our bodies. There is already a lot of carbon dioxide in the air. If you are concerned, make sure you are using it in a well-ventilated area. It's hard to believe: by combining two seemingly mild products, you can get most of the hard work around your home done. But the fact is, baking soda and vinegar are usually the only couple you need to keep your house clean. The secret is in how you use the two. But as long as you remember these recipes, you'll always have a powerful detergent on hand for the dirtiest jobs.

Cleaning with baking soda and vinegar.

1. Freshen up a drain (and make a stainless steel sink shine)

Instead of using harsh chemicals that could potentially damage the pipes, clog and freshen the drain by adding a cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar. Always keep the ratio of one part baking soda to two parts vinegar. The mixture bubbles and bubbles and leaves everything wonderfully clean again. Then rinse with very hot water for a few minutes and then let the cold water run for a while.

While the surface is damp, take the opportunity to sprinkle extra baking soda into the bowl of the sink and scrub well with a brush or sponge. The mildly abrasive properties of baking soda help remove stubborn dirt and stains.

2. Dissolve the lime

Stubborn lime disappears like snow in the sun! Place a cloth or paper towel soaked in vinegar on the affected area and leave it on for a few hours. Remove the cloth, scrub it with baking soda paste (a mixture of dry baking soda and just enough water to make a paste-like consistency), spray lightly with vinegar, and wipe clean.

3. Remove stains from the carpet

With these cleaners in your closet, don't be frightened if someone spills a little alcohol on your carpet. Make a paste of baking soda and some vinegar and dab it on the stained carpet with your fingers. Let the mixture sit and dry overnight, then vacuum off the residue. Before attempting this tip extensively, test it out on a small, invisible piece of carpet. If everything looks clean, treat the rest of your stain.

4. Kill mold in your dishwasher

The cleaning and deodorizing properties of baking soda and vinegar work wonders for your laundry. Add ½ cup of baking soda to your laundry detergent for increased cleaning power. If you add a cup of vinegar during the rinse, everything will be shiny.

5. Clean the joints

The abrasive properties of baking soda add more muscle strength to your own scrubbing job. Make a paste from baking soda and water, use it to sand the joints and spray lightly with vinegar, then rinse off thoroughly. Thanks to the shower effect, your joints will be nice and clean again.

6. Remove dirt from pots and pans

Dried food scraps, baked-on grime, and burnt food scraps can often be difficult to clean up, but they are no match for this mighty pile. Sprinkle baking soda on damp (not wet) pots and pans, sprinkle with vinegar, then wipe it with a scrubbing pad. The slight foam effect removes part of the stubborn dirt.

7.Boost Detergent

It may sound like a cliché, but adding half a cup of baking soda to your usual amount of liquid detergent really does make the wash lighter. The baking soda also makes the water softer so you actually use less detergent. Adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to your machines also increases the bleaching power, so you only need half the amount of bleach you normally use.

8. Clean the shower headIf you live in an area with hard water, it is almost impossible to prevent limescale and minerals from building up on your shower head over time. It can even clog with the lime. But baking soda and vinegar can make it look like new at night! Place your shower head in a large ziplock bag and pour enough white vinegar into it to cover it. Seal the bag and let it stand overnight. In the morning, take the shower head off and sprinkle some baking soda over the surface. When the shower head soaks, the vinegar breaks down the hard water and stubborn stains. Adding the baking soda at the end of the soak creates the bubbly chemical reaction mentioned above to add a little extra strength. When the bubbles stop.

9. Clean your toilet bowl

Spray the inside of your toilet bowl with white vinegar until it is completely wet. Then sprinkle a fair amount of baking soda on the wet surface and spray a little more vinegar if necessary to start the reaction. Wait a minute or two and then scrub the toilet bowl thoroughly with a toilet brush.

10. Mold in the bathroomEveryone knows mold stains in the bathroom on the edges of the sealant. You can buy expensive heavy-duty products like HG, but these really aren't nice to use if you can't ventilate properly. They have a very strong odor that will take your breath away immediately. Make another paste of baking soda with some water, scrub it well, sprinkle cleaning vinegar on it, and let the substance do its job. Then rinse with clear water and your sealing edges and joints are wonderfully clean and white again.

11. Clean the stoving ovenEveryone knows a dirty stove! Cannot be cleaned with steel wool or a scouring pad. Here, too, this duo offers a solution. Sprinkle some baking soda on the baking sheet or make a paste of baking soda with water and apply it to the walls with a sponge. Sprinkle with vinegar and soak overnight. If it hasn't completely gone, repeat one more time on the remaining spots. Remove residues with kitchen roll, scrub off the remainder with clear water. You can also clean the burners of your gas stove in this way and they will shine like new again.

12. Polish silver and copperThere are several ways to remove tarnish and make silver shine. One method is to use a paste of one part water and three parts baking soda so you have a paste. Use it to buff your copper and silver as you are used to. Rinse it off and use a clean cloth to dry it to a shiny shine.

13. Food and Uses of Vinegar and Baking Soda• Two tablespoons of kitchen vinegar mixed with half a liter of water is also effective at removing pesticides from fruits and vegetables.
• Baking soda makes omelets fluffier when added to eggs. Just add half a teaspoon for every three eggs.
• Tenderize meat and kill bacteria by pickling the meat in vinegar; Balsamic vinegar also gives a nice taste. Meat must be marinated in a quarter cup of vinegar and spices for up to 24 hours before cooking.
• Eggs can break when cooked. To keep them intact and make it easier to peel the eggs, add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar for every quart of water.
• Don't waste salad dressing or mayonnaise left on the bottom of the jar. Shake a few drops of vinegar into the jar to make it easier to remove.
• Keep cheese longer by wrapping it in a cloth or paper towel soaked in vinegar to prevent mold. Place the wrapped cheese in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator
• To get the lightest, streak-free colors when coloring Easter eggs, mix a teaspoon of vinegar with half a cup of hot water and food coloring.

Personal Hygiene and Health

• Baking soda can be used as a dry shampoo for dandruff. Instead of regular shampoo, massage baking soda onto your scalp.
• A weekly rinse with a cup of apple cider vinegar is another effective way to fight dandruff and also helps remove tarnish and add shine.
• Soften hair and fight split ends by adding baking soda to the conditioner. Cover with a cap for up to 20 minutes before rinsing.
• Clean hairbrushes and combs with a teaspoon of baking soda and a little warm water. Rinse well.
• Soothe irritation from insect bites, including mosquito bites, by applying a paste of baking soda and water or dabbing with a cotton ball soaked in vinegar.
• Fight heartburn by drinking a combination of half a teaspoon of baking soda and half a cup of water.
• Enjoy a home spa treatment by taking a relaxing bath with half a cup of baking soda. Another option is to bathe in a warm bath that uses half a cup of vinegar to soften and remove the dead skin cells.
• Clean toothbrushes by soaking them overnight in a combination of a quarter cup of baking soda and a quarter cup of water.
• A 20-minute foot bath in one part vinegar and two parts warm water can help remove dead skin and soften your feet.
• Baking soda is a mild exfoliant for the skin. Combine three parts of baking soda with one part of water, then apply it in a circular motion. Rinse well.
• Brushing your teeth weekly with a toothbrush dipped in vinegar can help freshen breath and whiten teeth.
• Help the nail polish last longer by wiping your nails with vinegar before applying the color.Pets

• Sprinkling baking soda around a pet's food bowl can deter pests.
• A layer of baking soda under the litter box can help reduce odors in the litter box.
• People can use baking soda to make toothpaste for brushing their pet's teeth.
• Spraying dogs with white wine vinegar diluted with water can help repel fleas and make their fur shiny. © Martha

Isparta: Anatolia's most aromatic city

With its rose and lavender fields and ancient history, the southern city of Isparta has become a popular travel destination over the last couple of years and plans to continue to welcome enthusiastic visitors.

One of Turkey's secret treasures, Isparta has come to the fore for tourism in recent years. Located in the Lake District of the northwestern Mediterranean region, the city is known as Turkey's rose garden and renowned for its lavender fields. Isparta has also been home to many civilizations throughout history. Traces of the civilizations that the city once hosted can still be explored today. The city also offers historic attractions such as Eğirdir, Kovada and Gölcük lakes, Kovada and Kızıldağı national parks and many other pristine sites. Yalvaç, a center for belief tourism, and Eğirdir, where mountaineering, trekking, windsurfing, paragliding, and camping are popular, also offer alternative activities for visitors.

The famous lavender harvest of Isparta takes place from July to September and people from all over Turkey and the world can participate in the harvest and related events in the city.

Mount Davraz is a major ski resort and offers other outdoor activities, including hiking, spelunking, and mountain climbing. It is also possible to go rafting and participate in other river sports in the city's canyons. Isparta's famous rose harvest, which takes place from May to June, is now accompanied by the lavender harvest. To see the fields, many tourists journey to the villages of Kuşçular, Kuyucak, Ardıçlı and Aydoğmuş from both Turkey and around the world, with the largest numbers visiting in July. Located in Turkey's biggest lavender producing district, Keçiborlu, Lavender Valley boasts large fields that mirror the Provence villages of France. Those who visit the city during the rose harvest can explore the fields and gather beautiful blooms with the locals. They can also visit the factories where the roses are processed.

A 35-million-year history

Symbols of affection, love, and spirituality, roses have been used as potent symbols throughout history, attracting the adoration of mankind in every period and indispensable for kings, sultans, and rulers. In Turkish history, especially in Divan literature, they symbolize spirituality, sanctity, and love.

Fatih Sultan Mehmet presented at Madame Tussauds in İstanbul

In the miniature of Mehmed the Conqueror made by Muralist Sinan, the sketch of the sultan smelling a rose shows that it is the symbol of power on the one hand and elegance on the other. With its 35-million-year history, this flower has been the subject of legends since ancient times because of its beautiful scent and nutritional value, while poems and hymns have also been written in its name. Historians believe rose oil and rose water were first produced in India and Iran and spread from there to Anatolia, Europe, North Africa, and East Asia. Rose gardens were highly valued by Phoenicians, Greeks, and Romans. The first known use of pressed rose water was in 3500 B.C. and later distilled in 50 B.C.

Lavender Valley of Isparta, which is the biggest lavender producer in Turkey boasts large fields that resemble the villages Provence, France.

The will of İsmail Efendi

The history of rose breeding in Isparta does not date back to ancient times. The son of Meydan beyoğlu Mehmet İzzet who came from the Yalvaç district and settled in Isparta, İsmail Efendi's role in the history of roses is quite significant. İsmail Efendi was a well-educated trader. He developed weaving in the region with the looms he set up around Isparta and Burdur. When he learned that a land registry officer who had come from Bulgaria's Kazanlak region to Denizli was able to obtain oil from rose petals in 1889, he began to exchange letters with this person to learn about rose breeding. At the time, Isparta's soils were infertile and dry. With perseverance, he planted flowers on 30 acres but after three years of intensive labor, right around when saplings were almost mature, frost, snow, wind, and rain wiped out his whole crop. Determined, İsmail Efendi's effort finally produced blossoms in his fourth year of farming but he was still unable to produce rose oil. As a result, all of his efforts were unable to turn a profit once again. At this point, there were even rumors about his mental health, but he did not give up on raising roses. He finally figured out his mistakes, gathered more information and got better products the following year. The next spring, the rose breeder's garden was filled with huge rose trees. The beautiful garden and roses soon became legendary. The blooms were so plentiful that it took hundreds of people over a month to harvest them. He was also able to produce fine rose oil and water thanks to his dedicated research on the subject.

He was finally rewarded for his years of patience, perseverance, and diligence and began to turn a profit from the business. With the money he earned, his 30 acres of garden grew to 100. The people of Isparta also learned from Ismail Efendi that the land was suitable for breeding roses. When they saw that they could profit from the blooms, they began to plant roses as well. With the help of İsmail Efendi, the name Isparta began to be associated with the flowers. The modern rose oil factory, established in 1935 per order of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk during his visit to Isparta, led to the industrialization of the area's rose oil business.

Isparta's famous rose harvest takes place from May to June and people coming from all over Turkey and the world can join the harvest and related events in the city.

Precious species: Rosa Damascena Mill

Around 1,350 rose species have been identified around the world. Although 24 species are native to Turkey, only Rosa Damascena Mill is used to make rose oil. Despite the wide variety, the Trigintipetala hybrid grown in Bulgaria, Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, Iran, Syria, India, and the Caucasus is preferred for making rose oil. Rosa Damascena Mill is also known as Isparta Rose, Pink Oil Rose, Oil Rose, Gum Rose, and Damask Rose. This pink flower has a strong scent. Rose oil is an indispensable product in both medicine and cosmetics.

Processed as rose water, rose wax and rose oil, roses have been mentioned in virtually every medical book ever written for treating headaches, fevers, fainting, stomach aches, blood clots, and other illnesses. Naturally produced rose water is used as an organic aroma in food and desserts and as a beauty cleanser thanks to its nourishing and tightening effects on the skin. Rose-based extracts are used in shampoos as well as hand and body lotions. Likewise, many products, such as rose jam and Turkish delight, have graced tables since the Ottoman era.

Benefits and uses of essential oils of lavender

The proven health benefits of essential lavender oil include the ability to reduce stress and anxiety, eliminate nervous tension, relieve pain, disinfect the scalp and skin, prevent acne, improve blood circulation and treat breathing problems. Lavender oil is widely used in aromatherapy and works as a natural sedative. The powerful antibacterial nature makes it a wonderful household cleaner and deodorant.

What is the essential oil of lavender?
Essential oil of lavender is extracted from the flowers of the lavender plant (Lavandula angustifolia), mainly by steam distillation. Lavender flowers are known for their calming odor and have been used for centuries for making potpourri. The Latin name lavender is Lavare, which means "washing". This is because lavender and lavender essential oils have been used since ancient times by the Romans, Persians, Greeks, and Egyptians as a bath additive and perfume.Lavender essential oil is a pure oil and differs from commercial lavender oil that can be diluted and often sold as perfume. Lavender perfume and body sprays are popular because of their fresh and floral scent. On the other hand, pure essential lavender oil is often used in various forms, including as an aromatherapy oil, in gels, lotions, soaps, baby products, and candles.

Benefits and the use of lavender oil
The powerful health benefits of essential lavender oil include the following:Promotes wound healing
Essential oil of lavender is an excellent essential oil to have on hand because it helps with minor cuts, bruises, and burns. Simply rub a few drops of essential oil of lavender on the bruised area or on burns to increase blood circulation and healing. It can also be used to calm skin irritations, shaving rashes and sunburn.Essential oil of lavender relieves anxiety and neuroprotective effect
One study showed that lavender oil has the potential to reduce brain edema and improve functional ability in people suffering from brain ischemia. Although lavender has traditionally been used in many cosmetic and therapeutic applications due to medicinal properties, research confirms that lavender oil has powerful neuroprotective properties. In addition, the oil helps to increase antioxidant capacity in the body and inhibit oxidative stress.

Relieves stress and anxiety
Applying a few drops of lavender oil to your temples can help treat migraines, headaches, depression, nervous tension and emotional stress. You can also add a few drops of lavender oil to your bath water to reduce nervous exhaustion and restlessness. This is because terpenoids such as linalool and linalyl acetate, present in the essential oil of lavender, have powerful anxiolytic abilities.Treats respiratory disorders
Lavender oil is widely used for various respiratory problems, including strep throat, flu, cough, colds, asthma, sinus congestion, bronchitis, whooping cough, laryngitis, and tonsillitis. It can be inserted into an aromatherapy essential oil diffuser or alternatively, it can be applied locally to the skin of the neck, chest, and back. It is also added to many vaporizers and inhalers that are often used for colds and cough. The stimulating nature of essential lavender oil can also relieve the mucus and relieve congestion associated with respiratory diseases, accelerating the recovery process and helping the body naturally remove mucus and other unwanted material. The vapor of essential lavender oil also has antibacterial properties that can combat respiratory infections.

Induces sleep
Essential oil of lavender induces sleep and is often used as an alternative treatment for insomnia. Put a few drops of fragrant oil in your palms and rub it on your pillowcase and sheets. It ensures a good night's sleep. A research study investigated the effects of aromatherapy with lavender on 67 women aged 45-55 years in Taiwan. The volunteers showed a significant improvement in sleep quality and a persistent positive effect of cardiac rhythm variability with an increase in parasympathetic modulation.Anti-bacterial
Regular use of essential lavender oil offers resistance to a variety of diseases. Lavender has antibacterial and antiviral properties that make it perfect for defending the body against rare diseases such as TB, typhus, and diphtheria, according to early research in the 20th century

Treats acne
According to dermatologists, lavender essential oil is one of the most beneficial oils in the treatment of acne, which is an uncomfortable and painful condition that mainly affects young people when they go through puberty, but can also affect adults. Its antibacterial and therapeutic properties were verified by physicians.Pure essential lavender oil inhibits the bacteria that cause the initial acne infection, helps regulate the overexcretion of sebum by hormonal manipulation and can reduce the signs of scarring after the acne has begun to heal. Adding a small amount of essential lavender oil to other skin creams or ointments can greatly increase the potential for relief and healing.

Haircare
Essential oil of lavender is useful for hair care because it has been shown to be very effective against lice, louse eggs, and nits. Furthermore, it has been found that therapeutic quality of essential lavender oil is very useful in the treatment of hair loss, especially for patients suffering from alopecia, an autoimmune disease in which the body rejects its own hair follicles. A Scottish study reported that more than 40% of the alopecia patients in the study reported an increase in hair growth when they regularly rubbed the lavender oil in their heads. Therefore, lavender oil is sometimes recommended as a preventative measure for male pattern baldness.

Ease the pain
Essential oil of lavender is known as an excellent remedy for various types of pain including those caused by painful and tense muscles, muscle pain, rheumatism, sprains, back pain, and spit. A regular massage with lavender oil can provide relief from pain in the joints. A study showed that combining essential lavender oil in the oxygen significantly reduced the amount of pain.Against insects
The smell of essential lavender oil is powerful for many types of insects such as mosquitoes, mosquitoes, and moths. Apply some lavender oil to the exposed skin when you are outside to prevent these irritating bites. In addition, if you happen to be bitten by one of those critters, lavender essential oil has anti-inflammatory properties that reduce the irritation and pain associated with insect bites.Stimulates the urine flow
Essential oil of lavender is good for urinary disorders because of the stimulating effect on urine production. In addition, it helps to restore the hormonal balance and reduce cystitis or inflammation of the urinary bladder. It also reduces the associated cramps with these and other conditions.

Improves blood circulation

This means that not only do the organs increase their levels of oxygenation, promote muscle strength and health, but brain activity can get a noticeable boost, the skin stays clear and flushed with the blood, and the body is protected from the risks of heart attack and atherosclerosis often associated with poor blood circulation.Assisted with digestion
Lavender oil is useful for digestion because it increases the motility of food in the intestine. The oil also stimulates the production of gastric juices and bile and this helps in the treatment of indigestion, stomach pain, colic, flatulence, vomiting, and diarrhea.Treats eczema
Premium organic lavender oil is used for the treatment of various skin conditions such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. It is often used to speed up the healing process of wounds, cuts, burns, and sunburn because it improves the formation of scar tissue. It is also added to chamomile to treat eczema.

Roses are a popular ingredient in skin-care and, indeed, for a very good reason!

Extracts of this delicate flower can be used on all skin types, but are often included in products for the dry, sensitive and mature skin. This is a good time to emphasize the many ways in which rose, in beauty, is used.

There are generally two types of roses that are used in skin care: Rosa Damascena and rosa centifolia. The first, often from Isparta, has a deep, powerful smell. The latter, known as the cabbage rose or the Moroccan rose has a lighter and sweet smell. Both are appreciated for their pure essential oils, derived from the rose flowers.

Fun Fact: Depending on the climate conditions, thousands of rose petals are needed, picked as they unfold in the early morning hours, to provide 1 gram of essential rose oil. That makes rose oil one of the most expensive essential oils in the world. The rose oil is so concentrated that only a few drops are needed to reap the benefits of the beneficial effects.

It contains essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and has essential soothing moisturizing properties for dry skin. It also offers antiseptic and astringent properties for the treatment of acne skin and anti-inflammatory properties that help treat redness and inflammation. Rose oil can also help refine the skin structure and manage skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. A study has even shown that essential rose oil can help heal wounds, because inhalation inhibits water loss in the skin and lowers the concentration of cortisol, a stress hormone, in the body.

Furthermore, the essential oil roses also have aromatherapy properties that calm down. A recent study has shown that rose and lavender oil can help in the treatment of anxiety and depression, while it has been shown specifically that rose oil has a positive effect on the treatment of depression.

Finally, rose hydrosol (also known as rose water, rose flower water or rose distillate) is derived from a complicated process. Small quantities of rose buds are steamed in distilleries and eventually, a volatile therapeutic compound is released into the water. The essential oil is extracted and rosewater with micromolecules of essential oil and constituents from the flour are caught drop by drop. With antibacterial properties, hydrosols are often used in facial clefts, toners and hair tonics to keep skin and hair inbalance.

There is nothing less true, in beauty the rose is always a winner!

The Bulgarian Rose Valley.Roses occupy a separate position in the hierarchy of flowers - they are generally considered the best of all flowers. Red roses are a sign of love, yellow roses are a sign of friendship, and white roses represent purity, which is why they are often used for weddings and funerals. And this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to colors and variations.

Roses feature prominently in poetry, perhaps because of their beauty, fragrance, and symbolism. They are considered a wonderful gift and some are even used to make beauty products and food. Ask anyone which flower is the cream of the crop and the answer will no doubt be the rose. So where do the best roses in the world come from?
The luxurious Rosa Damascena has come a long way over the centuries - from the Middle East through Persia and India to find its real home in the "Valley of Roses" in Central Bulgaria. There is something about the air, soil, and climate in this magical place that stimulates the natural synthesis of the highest quality rose oil in the world. It has been known for centuries that Bulgarian rose oil restores and revives the skin and soul.Located in a secluded and peaceful area in central Bulgaria, surrounded by endless evergreen mountains and towering peaks, at the foot of Bulgaria's largest mountain range lies a small, sunny and fertile valley. Known all over the world as the Rose Valley, at the end of spring, the air fills with the sweet scent of roses as the new crop is collected. This is the home of Bulgarian rose. This fragrant valley is known for its exceptional quality rose oil that excels in both fragrance and natural concentration of bioactive substances.

The Valley of the Roses is an area in central Bulgaria, 200 km east of Sofia. The Rose Valley runs from east to west. The valley is relatively wide, almost flat, limited only to the north and south by mountain ranges - to the north from the central Balkan Mountains and to the south from the eastern part of the Sredna Gora Mountains. The Rose Valley is geologically composed of two river valleys - west of the Strjama River Valley and east of the Tundzha River Valley. The western part of the rose is also known as the Karlovo Basin, and the eastern part of the rose is called the Kazanlak Valley, named after the nearby city of Kazanlak.

The Rose Valley is for the outdoor cultivation of roses that are known to grow here in the miles-long fields for industrial purposes. Here, in a wind-protected valley between the two east-west running mountain ranges, flowering damask roses (Rosa damascena) have been grown for centuries, mainly the variety 'trigintipetala' synonymous' Kazanlak ', as the' Bulgarian oil rose already mentioned 1689. From the petals of this rose is produced, by distillation, the precious rose oil, one of the most expensive essential oils. Rose oil is widely used in perfumes, in the perfuming of food and drink and in the pharmaceutical industry.

Rosen cultivation expanded in the seventeenth century, from Persia to India, North Africa, and Turkey. In 1710 rose cultivation in Bulgaria started in Kazanlak. From 1750 to the present day, the area between Kazanlak and Karlovo is the largest production area for the production of rose oil. In the 20th century, there were still about 2800 small distiller companies in Bulgaria producing rose oil with steam tanks for about 1-10 tons of flowers.

Bulgaria is the world's largest rose oil producer, supplying 70% of the world's rose oil production. The roses are mainly grown in the Rose Valley. The petals are harvested very early in the morning because the oil content is then the most. Three tons of flowers are needed to produce a liter of distilled rose oil. This represents an efficiency of only 0.02 to 0.05%. Bulgaria produced about 900 kg of rose oil in 2003. The center of the rose oil industry is Kazanlak, other smaller centers are Karlovo, Sopot, and Kalofer.

The season for picking the petals is from May to June. During this time, the entire valley is covered with roses and it smells wonderful! Picking a rose has traditionally been a function of women, it requires a lot of skill and stamina. The flowers are carefully cut individually, placed in wicker baskets and taken to the distillery. After the picking season in June, there is a celebration in the villages and towns. Flower festivals and folk festivals are organized annually. A festival is held every year.

Interesting facts about rose production in the early 20th century.

∙ A 1000 m2 soil with Rosa Damascena plants costs between 60-200 levs.
∙ To produce 1 kilo of rose oil you need 3000-3500 kilos of Kazanlak White Rose or 4000-5000 kilos of Red Oil Rose.
∙ The average growth of the land planted with roses was between two and five thousand m2 per year.
∙ Unfortunately, the massive increase in rose plantations in the early 20th century after the end of World War II was reduced to 23%.
∙ Each village in the Rose Valley had its special method of maintaining, planting and processing the rose petals. There is a long list of different tools used in each of these processes, some of which you can see in the Institute of Rose in Kazanlak and in the museum.
∙ To find out if rose plants were frozen, the locals picked some branches, put them in potatoes, and left them behind their stoves for a few days. The ratio between fresh and dry branches would show whether they should rent more or fewer rose pickers.
∙ From 1 kilogram of rose petals, they can make 1 kilogram of rose water.

France the country of perfume.

With Paris as a city where the most prestigious perfume makers are established and Grasse, the flower capital and perfume specialists on the Cote d'Azur, France is a true paradise for fragrance and perfume lovers.

Ever since the ancient times, perfumes are made in Mediterranean countries. The use of an odor was even elected in the XVIIIth century over a wash with soap!

Grasse, the cradle of the perfume.

In addition to the German Cologne, where the first scented water was developed, everything happened on the Cote d'Azur in Grasse.

A technique was developed to extract the pure perfume with steam or alcohol.

Due to the sunny climate, scented flowers bloom in the region such as roses, lavender and jasmine and many other flower types.

How is perfume made?

Today, the production process is being evaluated and the millions of flowers required for perfume are also imported from other countries. But in Grasse and Paris you still find the best 'noses' of the industry. They work with subtle melange and costume extracts to create perfume. In fact, the perfumes are divided into 7 fragrance families (the famous Chanel N ° 5 belongs, for example, to the Hespéridées).

In addition to flowers, fruit (like orange, vanilla), resin (like myrrh and incense), but also mousse, herbs and carrots (such as iron or vetiver root) or spices (as cinnamon) and wood bark are used. And let's not forget special ingredients like beeswax or musk!

Smells like incentive.

Many perfume homes can be visited by groups. Some organize fun games where participants learn to use their senses or let participants create their own perfume. Also in Paris and Grasse several origenal tours around the theme of perfume have been compiled:

Visit to the distilleries of Grasse Fragonard, Galimard and Molinard are "factories" where you can visit the high tech workshop and a museum with the old production techniques. Locally you will find companies that specialize in the processing of aromatic plants.

1. A visit to Fragonard in Grasse

Fragonard was the name of a great painter used as a hommage for the perfume house, founded in 1782. There are workshops in Grasse, but also two museums in Paris: in the rue Scribe (at the Opéra Garnier) and on the boulevard Des Capucines.

The perfume factory of perfume manufacturer Fragonard is located in the center of Grasse. There is an entrance to the free accessible perfume museum in the village street and there is an entrance on the road to Cannes. By the road there is a parking lot that stops many buses with tourists every day.You can explore the museum yourself, but you can also choose a tour. If you take the tour you will also be in the production area of the perfume factory. Here you can see, smell and hear the whole process of making perfume.

Address: Fragonard: Bd Fragonard.

2. A visit to perfume manufacturer Molinard

Molinard is a Provençal perfume maker since 1849, where you can take a look behind the scenes in Grasse. They offer different animation for groups: perfume making, odor games, with 'l'odorama', etc.

With their 'Atelier Gourmand' they add a flavor to the taste of coffee, tea and chocolate.
Perfume house Molinard is not accessible free of charge but you can take a lesson in making perfume. The lesson is given by a true nose. During the lesson you will create a perfume with a choice of about 80 ingredients.Molinard's shop offers a wide range of flavors and soaps. There are also products that you can not find easy or not find elsewhere at all.

Address: Molinard: Bd Victor Hugo 60.

3. A visit to the Calimard perfume house

Galimard perfume is also a figurehead in Grasse. Not to be confused with the famous publisher Gallimard. Here you can also visit the workshop and the shop.

Parfum house Galimard is located outside the center of Grasse but is easily reached by car. Also at Galimard you can get a tour and follow a course of perfume.

Address: Galimard: Route Cannes 73.

4. Le Domaine de Manon

is a family owned and operated Grasse perfumery that grows flowers itself! It grows the Centifolia Rose and the Jasmine Grandiflora, two popular flowers used in perfumes. These flowers are picked during the height of the bloom and are sent to be used in Dior fragrances, one of the most popular global fragrance companies. Don’t miss your chance to see the harvesting of these beautiful flowers on your French Riviera trip! The roses bloom from early May to early June and the jasmines are in bloom from August to mid-October. Tours are only available on Tuesday mornings during the bloom of the flowers. While in Grasse, don’t miss the Jasmine Festival, being held from July 31 through August 2 of this year. A parade will be held in which thousands of these beautiful flowers will be thrown to onlookers and there will be an abundance of music and food for all.

For a different spin on Grasse’s perfume production, a trip to this lovely flower farm is a great option. Centifolia rose and jasmine have been cultivated here for three generations, and the farm now supplies Dior exclusively. Tours only take place during flowering, on Tuesday at 9am from early May to early June for roses, and on Tuesday at 9am from August to mid-October for jasmine; ring ahead to double-check, since exact times vary from year to year.

The farm is 7 km southeast of the centre of Grasse, in the small village of Plascassier (officially part of Grasse). Head in the direction of Valbonne along the D4 as you leave Grasse, and then follow signs for ‘Vieux Village’ when you get to Plascassier. The domaine will be on your left.

Address: chemin du Servan 36.

5. L’Occitane en Provence factory

Located in Manosque, France is the L’Occitane en Provence factory. This world renowned perfumery has been making natural fragrances and oils since 1976. Some of its best-selling fragrances include Citrus Verbena Summer and Verbena Eau de Toilette. The factory offers free one-hour tours, which reveal the inner workings of their operations, including the integrity of their pure ingredients. Even though it has stores worldwide, you can’t pass up this once in a lifetime opportunity to view how the stunning aromas are created

Address: Z.I St Maurice, 04100 Manosque, France

6. The small perfume shops in the center of Grasse

In addition to the large perfume houses, you can find a few small businesses in the small shopping streets of Grasse. The owner of the store / studio is then the nose that made up the perfume.

In the Rue de l'Oratoire 12 you will find the perfume shop of Didier Gaglewski. It's nice to talk to a real nose about perfume and Didier Gaglewski speaks good English and likes to talk about his work.

Properties of eau de cologne

DISINFECT WITH EAU DE COLOGNE

My grandmother used to have a bottle of eau de cologne on the sink as standard.

Like so many people at that time, even if only because most people only took a bath once a week. Such a cloud of perfume covered the less pleasant smells.

Odeklonje is also useful as a home remedy for wounds, mosquito bumps, red spots, and small inflammations. You can disinfect fine with eau de cologne. The alcohol in the liquid kills any bacteria and fungus.

Mark the sore or itchy spot with a cotton swab, onto which you have dripped some eau de cologne. Use each cotton swab only for one spot, that prevents contamination. Great stuff, eau de cologne, that also smells better than iodine or another disinfectant.

It is ideal for disinfecting the hands more often and is very refreshing.

Or to disinfect the skin after shaving.

Eau de cologne in water, dissolved alcohol.

Eau de cologne can also be used for cleaning.

It is not only disinfecting but also fat and dirt dissolving.

Effective, inexpensive to use and affordable.

Clean with baking soda and vinegar.

What if we told you that you only need two ingredients to clean most of your home? Yes it is baking soda and kitchen vinegar! How does cleaning with baking soda and kitchen vinegar work?

Cleaning vinegar is actually an indispensable product for a good household. Whether it concerns limescale removal, cleaning or odor suppression, cleaning vinegar is inexpensive and belongs in every household cupboard. Below you will find a selection of the applications that occur in every household.
You can use cleaning vinegar to descale your appliances (including coffee maker, kettle). Dilute the cleaning vinegar with water, let it work overnight and then rinse with water. You can also descale your taps and the shower head with hot water and a dash of cleaning vinegar.
To understand why it helps to know how the reaction of baking soda and vinegar works. Baking soda (also called sodium bicarbonate) or baking soda is a base and bases want a proton. Vinegar is an acid and acids have a proton that they want to get rid of. The effervescent chemical reaction you see when you mix baking soda and vinegar is the exchange of those protons, producing carbon dioxide in the form of effervescent foam and leaving water behind. So what remains behind is essentially just water! So while the combination is potent, it's not something you can make ahead of time and store in a spray bottle. Is it dangerous to mix vinegar and baking soda?
Not at all. Mixing bleach and ammonia can release the toxic and sometimes fatal chloramine gas, baking soda and vinegar are completely different. The reaction you get from mixing these two compounds causes the release of carbon dioxide gas, the same gas we exhale from our bodies. There is already a lot of carbon dioxide in the air. If you're concerned, make sure you use it in a well-ventilated area. It's almost hard to believe: by combining two seemingly mild products, you can do most of the tough jobs around your home. But the fact is, baking soda and vinegar are usually the only pair you need to clean your house. The secret is in how you apply the two. However, as long as you remember these recipes, you'll always have a powerful cleaning agent on hand for the dirtiest jobs.

Cleaning with baking soda and vinegar.

1. Freshen up a drain (and make a stainless steel sink shine)

Instead of using harsh chemicals that could potentially damage the pipes, you can unclog and freshen the drain by adding cup of baking soda and 1 cup of vinegar. Always keep the ratio of one part baking soda to two parts vinegar. The mixture will fizz and bubble, leaving everything wonderfully clean again. Then rinse with very hot water for a few minutes and then let the cold water run for a while.

While the surface is damp, take the opportunity to sprinkle additional baking soda into the basin of the sink and scrub well with a scrub brush or sponge. The mildly abrasive properties of baking soda help to remove stuck-on gunk and stains.

2. Dissolve lime.

Stubborn limescale disappears like snow in the sun! Place a vinegar-soaked cloth or paper towel on the affected area and let it sit for a few hours. Remove the cloth, scrub with a baking soda paste (a mixture of dry baking soda and just enough water to create a paste-like consistency), spray lightly with vinegar and wipe clean.

3. Removing Stains in Carpet

With these cleaners in your closet, you won't cringe if someone spills a little booze on your carpet. Make a paste with baking soda and a small amount of vinegar and dab it on the stained carpet with your fingers. Let the mixture rest and dry overnight, then vacuum up the residue. Before you try this tip on a large area, test it on a small, invisible area of carpet. If everything looks clean, treat the rest of your stain.

4. Kill mold in your dishwasher

The cleansing and deodorizing properties of baking soda and vinegar work wonders for your laundry . Add ½ cup of baking soda to your laundry detergent to increase its cleaning power. Adding a cup of vinegar during the rinse will help make everything shine.

5. Cleaning joints

The abrasive properties of baking soda give more muscle to your own scrubbing work. Make a paste with baking soda and water, sand the joints with it and spray lightly with vinegar, then rinse thoroughly. Thanks to the effervescent effect, your joints will be beautifully clean again.

6. Get rid of gunk on pots and pans

Dried food particles, baked-on grime and burnt food scraps can often be difficult to clean, but they're no match for this mighty bunch. Sprinkle baking soda on damp (not wet) pots and pans, spray with vinegar and then wipe with a scouring pad. The light foaming action will remove some of the tough dirt.

7.Boost Detergent

It may sound like a cliché, but adding half a cup of baking soda to your usual amount of liquid laundry detergent really does get a brighter wash. The baking soda also softens the water, so you actually use less detergent. Adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to your machines also increases bleach potency, so you only need half the usual amount of bleach.

8. Cleaning shower head

If you live in a hard water area, it's nearly impossible to prevent limescale and minerals from appearing on your showerhead over time. It can even become clogged with the lime. But baking soda and vinegar can make it look like new overnight!
Place your shower head in a large ziplock bag and pour in enough white vinegar to cover it. Seal the bag and let it sit overnight. In the morning, remove the shower head and sprinkle some baking soda over the surface. As the shower head soaks, the vinegar breaks down the hard water and stubborn stains. Adding the baking soda at the end of the soak creates that effervescent chemical reaction I mentioned above to give a little extra strength. When the bubbles stop, use an old toothbrush to scrub the shower head well, then rinse it with warm water.9.

10. Mold in bathroom

Everyone knows about mold spots in the bathroom on your sealant edges. You can buy expensive hard-wearing products such as HG, but these are really not nice to use if you can't ventilate properly. They have a very heavy smell, which immediately hits your breath. Make another paste of baking soda with a little water, scrub it well, spray cleaning vinegar on it, and let the substance do its work. Then rinse it off with clean water, and your sealant edges and joints are wonderfully clean and white again.

11. Cleaning the baked-on oven.

Everyone knows a dirty caked oven! Cannot be cleaned with steel wool, nor with a scouring sponge. Again, this duo offers a solution. Sprinkle some baking soda on the baking tray, or make a paste of baking soda with water, and apply it to the walls with a sponge. spray with vinegar and let it soak overnight. If it is not completely gone, repeat it one more time on the remaining spots. Remove the leftovers with a kitchen roll, scrub the rest with clean water. You can also clean the burners of your gas stove in this way, they shine like new again.

12. Polish silver and copper.

There are several ways to remove tarnish and make silver shine. One method is to use a paste made of one part water and three parts baking soda so that you have a paste. Polish your copper and silver with this as you are used to. Rinse it off and use a clean cloth to dry it shiny.

13. Food And Uses Of Vinegar And Baking Soda

Two tablespoons of kitchen vinegar mixed with half a liter of water will also effectively remove pesticides from fruits and vegetables.

When added to eggs, baking soda makes omelets fluffier. Just add half a teaspoon per three eggs.

Tenderize meat and kill bacteria by marinating the meat in vinegar; balsamic vinegar also gives a nice taste. Meat must be marinated in a quarter cup of vinegar and spices for up to 24 hours before cooking.

Eggs can break during cooking. To keep them intact and to make it easier to peel the eggs, add a tablespoon of white vinegar for every quart of water.

Don't waste salad dressing or mayonnaise left at the bottom of the jar. Shaking a few drops of vinegar in the jar will make it come out easier.

Savon de Marseille is a household name in France and throughout Europe.

The recipe has not changed in over 100 years and consists of purely natural ingredients. And the nice thing is: you can make a lot of it yourself! We have rediscovered traditional soap for you.

There are only a few handcrafted soap boilers left in and around the southern French port city. It almost seemed as if the traditional Marseille soap was in danger of extinction. But for some years now, beauty bloggers and zero-waste fans have rediscovered them for themselves. The real Savon de Marseille consists of purely natural ingredients and requires almost no packaging material. In addition, with the help of numerous "grandma recipes," you can do an incredible amount with it.

1. Make liquid hand soap
Liquid soap can be easily made from pieces of Marseille soap. To do this, dissolve the grated soap in hot water, add a tablespoon of glycerin (available in drugstores) and let it cool. Here are some recipes to be found.2. Make detergent
The same applies to detergents: dissolve grated soap or ready-made flakes of white Marseille soap in hot water and add baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and essential oil for the fragrance. Cheap and waste avoiding! 3. Brush your teeth
Green Marseille soap (based on olive oil) is a very mild soap that you can use to not only wash your skin and hair but also brush your teeth. Some swear by it because it is said to be good for the gums. Simply rub over the soap bar with the toothbrush. With a few drops of peppermint oil, the whole thing doesn't even taste like soap, but really nice and fresh. However, fluoride is not in this "toothpaste".4. Remedies for moths
Just put a piece of green Marseille soap in the closet to keep moths out. Moths do not tolerate the scent of olive oil.5. Disinfectant
Dissolve a few tablespoons of grated Marseille soap in hot water together with household vinegar, and you have a natural cleaning agent that can be used to clean waxed tablecloths, toys, and other waterproof surfaces. Works excellently and evokes childhood memories.6. Make shaving cream
If you dissolve grated Marseille soap in a little water and add a few spoons of coconut or almond oil, you get homemade shaving cream. Here is a recipe to be found.7. Relief from mosquito bites
Marseille soap works against itching and skin irritation: simply rub on a mosquito bite and let it dry.8. "Lubricate" stairs and drawers
The drawer is hard to open? Rubs a dry bar of Marseilles soap over the edges and it gently slides out and back in again. Do the wooden stairs creak? Stuff flakes of white Marseille soap in every crack and the problem is solved!Green and white soap
For the above recipes, it is important to know the difference between the 2 varieties of real Savon de Marseille: there is a green variant that is made from at least 72% olive oil. This is the mildest soap that is also suitable for personal hygiene. The white soap, which has been made from a mixture of palm oil and other vegetable oils for centuries, is in turn more suitable for laundry and all household applications. Are you going to Marseille soon? There is a Musée du Savon de Marseille in the Old Port. Be sure to check it out!

Info: Soap shelf life

Does soap have a shelf life? Yes, but it is probably still effective.

While soap has an expiration date, it can still be effective if it foams and foams while washing.
Soap does expire, but if it still foams when you wash your hands, it should be effective.
Most store-bought soaps expire after two to three years.
Natural or handmade soaps can expire earlier, within a year, because the essential oils and fragrances can become rancid or moldy. The best way to keep soap is to keep it stored in cool, dark areas free of moisture.
Most soaps are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which requires all medications to have an expiration date. That is why you also see an expiry date on soaps. While most manufactured brands last up to two years or more, some handmade soap makers recommend using their soap within a year of purchase. That's because the natural ingredients in some soaps can become rancid or moldy.

However, it is likely that your soap will still be effective even after the expiration date. You should know this.

Soap does expire but is probably still effective
Soaps are surfactants that reduce the surface tension of water and smooth the molecules, binding, trapping, and loosening soap and oil - and the germs they contain. That is why bacteria and viruses physically slip from your hands when you wash with soap and water for 20 seconds.

Soap also helps kill germs because of its polar and non-polar ends in its molecular structure. The polar end helps dissolve the soap in water, and the non-polar end helps take the oil off your hands and pass it through the sink. It is the non-polar end that disrupts the outside of bacteria and viruses, causing them to crack and die.

Most manufactured soaps have an expiration date of two to three years. However, if soap still foams when you wash your hands, it can still be used effectively even after the expiration date. It doesn't matter if the soap is liquid or solid.

How to know when soap has expired
Soap can expire if it is cracked, dry and does not foam, or if it does not smell the smell it did when you first bought it.Compared to manufactured products, soaps perfumed with essential oils and colored with natural plant ingredients may have a shorter shelf life due to the natural ingredients. These handmade, organic or natural soaps should still function as store-bought soaps but may expire sooner.

Essential oils are "volatile," meaning they tend to evaporate when exposed to air. Soaps can lose their fragrance when the essential oils that provide those fresh scents evaporate. For some naturally scented soaps, we recommend using them within three months of opening the box.

Another sign that soap is too old is orange stains. The orange color is because the oil in the soap becomes rancid. While the soap is still technically safe to use, it won't smell very good.

In general, as long as a bar of soap has not gone rancid, no mold has grown or it no longer foams properly, you should still be able to use it effectively after the expiration date.

Soap is a passion and a livelihood. We would like to clear up some myths here and also educate you about the mysteries of soap!

What are the different components of soap?Soap is a cleaning agent made by the interaction of oils and fats [acids] with an alkali [sodium hydroxide] to produce a sturdy stick. Oils and fats for soap are compounds of glycerine and natural fatty acids [generally, fatty acids refer to any compound derived from the breakdown of fats]. When oils are mixed with a base, they form glycerine and the sodium salts of the fatty acids. Therefore, in theory, all soap should have natural glycerin content [although some major soap manufacturers remove this substance and sell it separately]. Many natural soaps have the glycerin content intact, this wonderful substance is a natural humectant and draws moisture from the air, leaving the skin soft and supple.

Many different oils, fats and butters are used in the manufacture of soaps that contain different beneficial fatty acids, for example,

∙ olive oil mainly contains oleic acid which produces small, mild and creamy bubbles;
∙ coconut oil contains almost 50% lauric acid which makes large, greasy, open, airy bubbles and sunflower contains mainly linoleic acid which produces large, open conditioning bubbles. So the soap maker's skill comes into practice with combining different oils and fats in the right dilutions that are used to produce the best foam possible, but keep the soap mild and soft - leaving a wonderfully soothing feeling on the skin. left behind [and not squeaky clean, sleek, and rough to the touch like some soaps].

Soap removes grease and dirt from the skin because some of its components are surfactants (surfactants). Surfactants have a molecular structure that acts as a link between water and dirt. This releases dirt particles, musty make-up, grease, etc. from the skin. One end of the molecule is hydrophilic (attracted to water) and the other is hydrophobic (attracted to substances that are not soluble in water).

So soap is a very effective cleaner, but it is much more! Some of the ingredients you see in many popular soaps do not have any beneficial effect on the skin. They can even cause problems for many users, such as allergies, eg Perfume - you will see this on the list of most soap ingredients. This is a chemical fragrance that is a man-made cocktail of chemicals, simply an aroma that has no therapeutic properties and can be toxic and irritating to many skin types. In fact, more than 70% of women claim to suffer from sensitive skin at some point for a variety of reasons.

Therefore, the most important thing in soaps is that they contain NO artificial, chemical fragrances, only aromatherapy-grade essential oils that have beneficial therapeutic properties for the skin. In fact, all essential oils have a mild antiseptic effect and many are corrective for various skin problems, especially when there is an imbalance ie too dry or too greasy. By using a generous, effective dilution of professionally blended essential oils in many products that not only smell great but also have a positive, therapeutic effect on the skin. You will see and feel a huge difference when using natural cold process soap compared to mass commercial products.

Soap for perfect beautyThese are the ingredients of a famous "soap" bar that, he claims, has a moisturizing effect.

∙ White Beauty Bar
∙ Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate - laundry detergent.
∙ Stearic acid - wax.
∙ Coconut acid - coconut fatty acid.
∙ Sodium Tallowate - animal fat.
∙ Water.
∙ Sodium isethionate - laundry detergent.
∙ Sodium Stearate - a white powder derived from vegetable fat commonly used in soaps and cosmetics. It can also be used as a waterproofing and gelling agent. Sodium stearate is also often used as a cheap stabilizer in plastics. A possible allergen.
∙ Cocamidopropyl Betaine - laundry detergent.
∙ Sodium Cocoate or Sodium Palm Kernelate - coconut or palm kernel oil.
∙ Fragrance - chemical aroma, a possible allergen.
∙ Sodium chloride - salt, used as a thickener.
∙ Tetrasodium etidronate - a chemical used as a water softener in soap to prevent soap scum.
∙ Tetrasodium EDTA - a synthetic preservative that can be irritating to the body
∙ eyes / mucous membranes.
∙ BHT - a solid white crystalline antioxidant that can be toxic to the kidneys
∙ Titanium dioxide (CI 77891) - white coloring.

But this is NOT a natural soap, as you can see, it mainly contains chemical detergents, animal fat [yuk, who wants to wash with lard?], Synthetic fragrances and preservatives.

Also, so many companies offer these types of bars and call their soap natural, but of course, it is not. The correctly formulated soap has a delicious, abundant lather, no need to fortify the lather with chemicals.

These are the two commonly used ingredients in these synthetic detergent bars:

∙ Propylene glycol - a petrochemical
∙ Sodium Lauryl Sulphate, Sodium Laureth Sulphate - aggressive cleaning agents

Or an example of natural soap ingredients:

∙ Extra virgin olive oil
∙ Virgin coconut oil
∙ Organic fair trade raw shea butter and cocoa butter
∙ sunflower oil
∙ Castor oil
∙ Spring water
∙ Aromatherapy essential oils
∙ Fresh fruits and vegetables
∙ Organic botanical products
∙ Natural plant colors and clays

WHICH WOULD YOU RATHER USE?!

When oils are mixed with the alkali [also called lye], a process called saponification takes place. Oils are composed of fatty acids, as mentioned before, they need a certain amount of alkali to saponify them, or turn them into soap. This is a critical part of soap making and when formulated correctly and professionally NO lye will remain in the finished soap.

"Superfat" soaps. This means that there are oils or fats left in the soap that has not been converted by the lye to keep grease/oil in its original form, forming an invisible, protective, and nourishing layer on the skin. The purpose of making the soap extra greasy is to give it this more "moisturizing" quality, making it more gentle on the skin.

When reading the INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) which is a legal requirement for all cosmetic products, it is difficult for the person who is not in this industry or who does not manufacture personal care products to understand the meaning of this labeling.

It is a system devised for waxes, oils, pigments, chemicals, and other ingredients of soaps, toiletries, and cosmetics based on scientific and Latin names of ingredients, e.g.

When olive oil is saponified, it is called:

∙ Sodium Olivate.

When coconut oil is saponified, it is called:

∙ Sodium cocoate.

When shea butter is saponified, it is called:

∙ Sodium Sheabutterate.

When castor oil is saponified, it is called:

∙ Sodium castorate or sodium ricinoleate.

When sunflower oil is saponified, it is called:

∙ Sodium sunflowerate.

When palm oil is saponified, it is called:

∙ Sodium palmate.

When animal fat is saponified, it is called:

∙ Sodium Talcate.

It is a fact.

Natural soaps not only smell great, they are also very good for your skin. You will see a marked improvement in the quality and texture of your skin if you use a natural soap instead of a synthetic detergent counterpart.

Sustainable palm oil RSPO certified

5 things you should know about palm oil

Palm oil is the most popular vegetable oil in the world, and the cheapest to produce. It's used in thousands of products, from cookies to lipstick. Indonesia and Malaysia produce about 85 percent of the world's supply, using roughly 53,800 square miles – half the size of Oregon.

The cost: when produced unsustainably, the palm oil industry destroys vital habitats for increasingly endangered orangutans, tigers, Asian elephants and sun bears.

Here are five things wildlife advocates need to know about the issue.

1. You likely consumed palm oil today without knowing itPalm oil is in an estimated half of all packaged food products sold in American grocery stores. It's in the majority of cosmetics. Most baby formulas, laundry detergents, chocolate bars, toothpaste, and shampoos contain palm oil. It can even be found in products as seemingly "additive-free" as cow's milk.

2. Ingredient labels won't always tell you which products contain palm oilAn ingredient may be derived from palm oil if it includes the word "palm" in it (with the exception of hearts of palm), such as palmate or palmitate. An ingredient may be derived from palm oil if it includes the words "lauryl," "laureth," the prefix "stear-," "vegetable oil," "glycerin" or "emulsifier." Hundreds of ingredients contains small amounts of palm oil and go by different names, which means many products contain palm oil even when it's not listed as an ingredient.

3. Boycotting palm oil won't save forests or wildlifeBoycotting is a legitimate expression of consumers' environmental concerns, but it's not likely to save wildlife or forests. If consumers boycott palm oil, companies could buy alternative oils that may require up to nine times as much land to produce. Meanwhile, palm oil growers would have even less incentive to produce responsible palm oil.

4. Responsibly produced palm oil does existIn order to clean up palm oil's environmental record, companies must 1) stop deforestation, 2) maximize crop yields on their existing plantations, 3) plant only on degraded land and 4) allow wildlife to use the plantations without harassment. This is certified sustainable palm oil.

5. When consumers demand responsible palm oil, companies take actionSome companies have committed to using only deforestation-free palm oil. Others have done little or nothing to cut deforestation from their supply chains. Before you shop, do some research. Identify and buy products from companies that have committed to deforestation-free palm oil. Speak out to businesses that still don't.

A bar of soap under the sheets can fix a common problem.

If these remedies work, they are the perfect alternative and I am all for trying it. That's why I had to share the latest trick by putting a bar of soap under your blankets for a common health problem that can affect one in ten people in the U.S. It may sound a bit strange, but many people swear by it.
It has been hailed as something that works for many patients with restless leg syndrome (RLS), the condition of a part of the nervous system that controls the tendency to move our legs. It causes uncomfortable sensations in your legs that usually affect people's sleep. It can be a sign of an underlying disease, such as Parkinson's disease, renal failure and diabetes, which often include symptoms of RLS, and treatment of these conditions can provide relief from RLS. Some medications can also make symptoms worse, and even during pregnancy, some women can develop RLS symptoms.
Dr. Oz covered the natural remedy in his show, suggesting that soap with certain oils was the best choice, especially lavender soap, which helps your body relax while trying to sleep.
There is no medical evidence that this actually works, but there is a suggestion that the symptoms of RLS may be caused by dehydration and low potassium levels. Most soap bars contain sodium chloride and can be absorbed through the skin during sleep. While it may sound incredible, there are those who have tried it and praise its effectiveness.

The scented soap flakes contain less than 5% perfume. The soap products are gentle on the skin with an average pH in solution of (1%) 8-11

The purest form of the soap flakes are the white types and the olive soap flake, however, the latter is more suitable for people with eczema as it has a higher fat percentage.

Keep in mind that people can also be allergic to natural products. Since natural essential oil often contains allergens that are known to also cause allergies. Which allergen these are differs from person to person as people are differently hypersensitive to “a substance” or substances that are “foreign”, so their body then considers them dangerous.

All essential oils can cause a hypersensitive reaction. An essential oil can be considered as a foreign substance. Subsequently, the body will perceive the essential oil as an allergen.

It is therefore important that a skin test is carried out by the person with a high sensitivity to allergies before using essential oils. To do this, mix one or two diluted drops of the essential oil with vegetable oil (for example olive or sunflower oil) in a teaspoon. Apply the substance in the elbow cavity, then you only have to wait 24 hours. If a person is allergic, they will notice a skin irritation after 24 hours. This means that you are allergic to the essential oil.

Subsequently, it is important, when producing detergent for commercial purposes, to adhere to certain regulations of the Public Health Service, for use and dosage in order to protect health and the environment.

Here is a selection of the regulations;

The dosage must be indicated for detergents, depending on the degree of soiling of the laundry and the hardness of the water, and must be adapted to the weight of the amount of laundry (kg of laundry in your machine).

Labeling of the content

For detergents sold to the general public, the label must indicate:
• the enzymes, disinfectants, preservatives, optical blues and perfumes, if added, regardless of their concentration;• the surfactants and other substances that give the detergent its cleaning properties, see the added list of the cleaning agents, if they are added at a concentration> 0.2% by weight.

They are classified according to their concentration into the following categories:
- less than 5%,
- 5% or more, but less than 15%,
- 15% or more, but less than 30%;27 contact allergens if their concentration is> 0.01%.

An overview of ALLERGENS IN ESSENTIAL OILS

Most Common Allergens in Essential Oils

Like all substances, from water to medicines, essential oils can sometimes cause allergic reactions.
Some essential oils are phototoxic, which means that they can cause skin pigmentation when applied to skin exposed to sunlight or UV light within 24 hours, eg tanning beds. This is especially true for citrus oils (and Bergamot oil), for example. Phototoxic reactions are also classified as allergic reactions or hypersensitivity reactions

Some components in essential oils therefore have an allergenic effect. Almost all essential oils naturally contain allergens: Chemical compounds that can cause an allergic reaction on the skin, examples of which are limonene, linalool and many others. Sometimes an essential oil consists almost exclusively of such allergy-causing substances. An allergic reaction usually manifests itself as a transient (skin) irritation, often already at a low dose. Unfortunately, an allergic reaction can never be completely ruled out, but sensible use of essential oil limits the risk. Furthermore, the amount (concentration) of allergen can vary per batch.

Below is a list of the best known compounds in essential oils that can cause allergies. Unfortunately, this list is far from complete. Only the compounds most likely to have an allergic reaction are included in the list.
An average essential oil can consist of dozens of compounds.

skin-friendly oils *

A large number of oils are particularly skin-friendly. In normal application, allergic reactions or irritations are extremely rare, but cannot be ruled out completely. Therefore, if in doubt, always test first. Some of these oils can even be applied pure to the skin for most people.

oils with phototoxic properties *

These are oils or essences that enhance the action of ultraviolet rays on the skin. For example, essential oils containing coumarins have a sensitizing effect, which means that these molecules can bind to the melanin cells of the skin. As a result, the melanin cells enhance the absorption of the ultraviolet light, which, depending on the skin type, can cause more or less severe burns. Coumarins are mainly contained in oils that are extracted by pressing.

It is recommended not to use Citrus oils on the skin and if so, not to exceed the dilutions below. Even when using these mixtures, the skin should not be exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun or solarium for 12 hours.

Several tests have shown that Orange, Citrus sinensis, and Mandarin, Citrus reticulata, do not have a phototoxic effect, this also applies to the distilled Lime, Citrus aurantifolia

oils suitable for children *

Only use the very best quality oils and neem oils that are fresh with children, depending on the type of oil max. 1 year old. Do not exceed the quantity indicated in the recipe and only use strong dilutions, maximum 1.5% in a base oil.

You can also use your nose as a tester, if the smell is just detectable, it is strong enough for the child because children have a much better sense of smell than adults. You can of course also let your child judge for themselves and try different oils or blends. Please note: the bottles do not belong in the hands of children. Article 13. Applicable law and competent court

All rights, obligations, offers, orders, and agreements to which these Conditions apply, including these Conditions, are exclusively governed by Dutch law.
All disputes between parties will be submitted exclusively to the competent court in the Netherlands.Article 14. Reasonable cancellation clause

Vitexnatura will demonstrate what his damage and loss will be if the consumer cancels the agreement (prematurely). A proportion that can be reasonably determined. This takes into account the activities already carried out by VitexNatura, costs incurred such as placing an order, arranging extra personnel, extra production or packaging expenses, or logistics costs.

This reasonably demonstrable loss will be the maximum percentage or amount that Vitexnatura will include in the cancellation clause. A correct percentage/amount that can pass the reasonableness test.

If the consumer does not want to pay this amount in the event of cancellation and the consumer tries to destroy the cancellation clause, VitexNatura will state and prove that this is a reasonable cancellation clause.

When the agreement is terminated (without there being a shortcoming on the part of VitexNatura) and is seen by the customer as unreasonably onerous, then VitexNatura will demonstrate that it concerns a reasonable compensation for loss or lost profit suffered by the user (read: entrepreneur).

Vitexnatura will bring his calculation (or by an accountant) into question from which the (higher) standardized damage follows than the amount to be paid by the consumer that follows from the cancellation clause.

DropshippingIf you have a webshop or want to start a webshop, you can use dropshipping. Dropshipping means that you sell products yourself through your webshop, but have the shipping of the products taken care of by another party. In this way you do not have to keep stock yourself and logistics can also make a difference in costs.

Drop shipment is useful for starting web shops, for example, to expand your product range or when you first want to try out a product before stocking.

Pay attention!

Vitex Natura Wholesale does not support product feeds or order links. This means that products must be entered manually and must also be ordered per order. You will, however, receive a monthly invoice from us.

Why Vitex Natura wholesale ecological products?
In recent years there has been an explosion in the range of sustainable products. The number of stores that offer these products is also growing. There are more and more shops that specialize in energy saving, fair trade products and Eco-design products.

The existing stores are also more than willing to include sustainable, environmentally friendly and Fairtrade products in their range. There is often a barrier because the products are difficult to obtain. This has to do with high delivery costs, minimum purchase and high free amounts. To provide a solution to these problems, we believe in the 1 point for all sustainable non-food products. Every retailer who intends to also carry sustainable products only needs to register with the Vitex Natura Wholesale and has direct access to all these products.

What makes the sustainable wholesaler unique?

Of course there are a lot of wholesalers, but what makes our wholesaler unique is that we have been working with smaller farmers and artisan manufacturers for many years and therefore all our products are sustainable, environmentally friendly and energy-saving.

The sustainable wholesaler as an alternative.

We see sustainable wholesale as a supplement and as an alternative to the current product range.

What can you expect from us?In addition to good cooperation with both our customers and suppliers, we ensure that the platform is up to date, where sustainable purchases can be made. We are transparent in pricing and we consult with farmers / importer / producer in case of large requests.
